Process for Request Periods
- Request: Submit a completed form on this page when I am open.
- Acceptance: I will respond within 72 hours (excluding weekends) with shipping instructions and a link for payment.
- Payment: Due upfront in full as a retainer for services to be rendered unless you’ve sent me more than 3 dolls in the last year and have paid on time for all of them, in which case payment is due upon receipt of final portfolio images.
- Shipping: Ship your doll within 7 business days of acceptance. Let me know if there’s a delay.
- Receiving: I confirm within 48 hours of getting the package in-hand.
- Turnaround: Turnaround averages around 100 working/business days. See Delays Policy in the terms below.
- Progress Update: I send one progress update around 65% to give an idea of the colors and basic shapes of the face. You may waive this in the form.
- Final Email: I send a final email with a full portfolio shoot and a reminder to confirm your address once your project is finished. Scroll down for complete info on the shipping method I use to return your doll/s.
Terms
Note: This is a contract. By requesting KomorebiDolls service you agree to be bound by all terms. Review all info several times before making a request.
Failure to adhere to the terms outlined on this site may result in refusal of future services or other penalties.
Terms are subject to change at my discretion and always exist to ensure that I can provide the best service possible.
General
All work is original and in KomorebiDolls style. I offer specific faceup types. Outcomes are based on the above types. I do not copy references exactly, modify another artist’s work, allow micromanaging of the process or details, or execute anyone else’s vision. Be sure you want my original work before requesting space in my schedule.
The client agrees to fill out the form correctly and completely. Read the rules on the form page.
If there is some reason for unusual delay (disaster, illness, bereavement, etc causing a turnaround of greater than 120 working days), I will always post on my instagram (at) komorebi.dolls and notify those affected.
All commission requests are fulfilled using the written portion of the form. If it’s not listed in writing, it won’t be included.
The Client has 72 hours to respond to progress updates with questions or requests. I will simply assume all is well and continue painting if I don’t hear back from the client in a timely manner. No changes will be accepted after that 72 hour window.
If the client needs to change address, notification must be made in the email thread. Do not use social media to notify of these changes!
The client must be a legal adult to make a request.
Komorebidolls reserves the right to refuse service.
Financial
A request is an agreement to pay should your order be accepted.
Payment is a retainer for services to be rendered.
Ghosted/abandoned orders will not be refunded and will result in a ban. Just let me know if you have a genuine emergency and request an actual cancellation.
Cancellation/Requests for refunds after I have received your dolls will be billed a cancellation fee of 25% or $200, whichever is more. Due to the nature of this work, cancellation is highly disruptive not only to me but to every other client. Please make your decisions thoughtfully.
New or occasional clients (less than 3 commissions in prior 12 months) Payment is due upfront in full.
Regular clients (those in good standing with at least 3 orders sent and paid on time in the prior 12 months) may request split payment for orders over $700 in value. First payment due within 30 days of request. All payments must be completed with in 72 hours of receiving the final portfolio shoot.
Process
I am open full time, year-round on a revolving basis. Request periods run every other month: January, March, May, July, September, November. I am, on average, working on projects form 2 periods at a time and have a consistent turnaround of 100 working days on average. *Modifications double turnaround. Due to the nature of this work, some flexibility is required on timing.
All work is completed in the most efficient way possible with no preferential treatment.
I send a standard update at around 50-65% progress to give an idea of the colors and basic shapes of the face. Video on instagram is the best way to do this, but an emailed photo is also offered as an option. You can ask me questions, and I’ll likewise share my plans and ask you questions. I send additional updates and revisions at my discretion, as each project requires.
Once I send the Final portfolio images, no changes are possible. Re-dos are subject to a fee of no less than $250 and are offered at my sole discretion. Pay attention to what I tell you about my plans at the check in, and ask questions if you are unsure about anything.
Requesting extensive changes at any point after your request is accepted is allowed solely at the artist’s discretion.
Due to the handmade nature of this work, small imperfections are to be expected: including but not limited to resin color change from sanding modifications, small dust particles, and some variation in resin matching. My standards for quality are exacting, but do remember this is an entirely handcrafted process with many variables.
IP Considerations
All final faceup designs are the sole property of the artist. I do not sell my copyright to clients.
Use of my images as references for sold art or other faceups is likewise the sole right of Komorebidolls.
The client must adhere to the rules for external references. I do not accept pictures from other faceup artists or AI. I strongly recommend choosing references from my own portfolio for Types A-C and Oil.
I do not make sculpts look exactly like actors/models. Inspiration (example) or specific makeup elements are ok.
Original Cosplay dolls are ok. If the sculpt is exactly based on the character, this is the result. If the sculpt is not based on the character, I will take an illustrative approach. Note: some sculpts are not compatible with the character: this is especially true in the case of characters with low levels of distinguishing characteristics. Please consult with me in advance.
Komorebidolls does not work on recasts. If the client knowingly sends a recast, they will be charged shipping and for the wasted spot.
Komorebidolls owns all rights, including reproduction, etc.. to the information on this site and to my images and faceups. Duplication, use in AI models, print sales, etc… is strictly forbidden and subject to legal action. Clients are welcome to share from my instagram or to share unedited copies of portfolio shoots, complete with watermark.
